In August I spent a week on 7th Lake in the Adirondacks, a yearly tradition. Once I discovered that I could draw my friends while spending time with them, I took pen to paper all day. It was more immediately satisfying than my other options for visual documentation: taking a picture on film I couldn't develop for weeks, or using the digital camera option of red eye reduction, itty bitty screen, and no negatives (though I did both also). Documentation is irresistible.

These are memories of the last days of summer 2005.
